About

What Trophos means.

Trophos comes from the Greek 蟿蟻慰蠁蠈蟼 - 'one who nourishes'. It's a better word than 'tracker' because what your body needs isn't counted, it's fed.

The word.

The Greek word 蟿蟻慰蠁蠈蟼 - pronounced tr贸-phos - meant a nurse or one who feeds. It comes from 蟿蟻慰蠁萎, 'nourishment', and the verb 蟿蟻苇蠁蠅, 'to feed, to rear, to nourish'. The same root is still in our language today: trophic webs in biology, autotrophic organisms in botany, atrophy when something is starved of what it needs.

We kept the Greek word because 'tracker' is the wrong frame. A tracker counts. A trophos feeds. Trophos is built to help you see what you're actually giving your body, not just what number lands on the calorie line.

What it solves.

Most apps optimize for one number. You log a meal, a counter ticks, and the question 'am I actually eating well?' never gets a real answer. Calories don't care about whether you got enough iron today, or whether your magnesium has been low all week.

Other trackers fund themselves by selling your attention and your data. Pop-ups between meals. Ads targeting your goals. The app works against your focus in the exact moment you're trying to be thoughtful about what you eat.

Trophos shows the full picture - calories, yes, but also the vitamins and minerals your body actually cares about, plus fatty acids and amino acids. You log meals by photographing a label; the AI does the typing. The panel tells you what's covered and what's missing.

Why it's different.

Built around AI

AI reads the labels you photograph and fills in the food catalog itself, cross-referencing sources so macro and micro values come back precise. Not a calorie app with AI bolted on.

Full nutrient picture.

Iron for energy, magnesium for sleep, potassium for muscle, B12 for focus, omega-3s for everything. The nutrients your body actually notices when they're low, tracked alongside calories and macros.

Funded by subscribers, not advertisers

No ads. No sponsored content. No selling your data. The product answers to the people using it.

Where it runs.

Trophos runs on iPhone and Android. Your data syncs between your devices.
